Welcome Parents & Guardians:

We are very excited about the NEW team in town: The Klein Bengals!!!

Hello, Megan Smith here, Team Mom Coordinator for the Bengals football teams.  We will soon be accepting applications for the VERY rewarding position of Team Mom/Dad for the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior teams.  If you’d like to volunteer your time and talents for this wonderful opportunity, working closely with the coaches and myself, please submit your letters of interest upon registering your child.

Duties of a Bengal Team Mom/Dad:

ü Communicate With Head Coach

Act as the liaison between parents & head coach.  Parents will be instructed to contact Team Mom/Dad if their player will be absent from practice or a game.

ü Communicate With Parents/Guardians

Verify team roster information is correct and kept up to date. Communicate daily and/or weekly with parents via phone and/or e-mail regarding practice, game schedules, locations, maps, and all changes. (Upon parent approval, share team members’ e-mail & phone contacts.)

ü Coordinate Activities/Events & Keep Team Budget

Be the focal point and lead for all team activities and events, along with collecting all monies for: picture day, home coming, pep rally supplies, parties, end of year coaches/players’ gifts, fund raisers, etc.

ü Coordinate Water Team

This effort should be coordinated with 3 parents who will provide water, water bottles, water coolers and ice chests for all players during practices and games.  The water team will stand on the side lines with the players, ensuring that they are well hydrated.

ü Coordinate Game Day Volunteers

Schedule and confirm that all weekly game duties are filled and that each person has their badges for entry onto the field.

Game Day Volunteers:

§  Announcer: Announces during HOME games only

§  Spotter: Stands by the announcer to help identify the players

§  Monitor: Stands on our side of the field and counts the plays for each player

§  Observer: Stands on the opposing side of the field with their monitor to ensure they are monitoring correctly

§  Chains: Works the chains on our side of the field

§  Banner: Holds the banner for the players to run through before the games

We are looking forward to a very fun year! If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at the below e-mail address.

Sincerely,

Megan Smith
