The All American Youth Football and Drill Team  (AAYFDT) has created a team/booster club associated with the new Krimmel Intermediate school called the Klein Bengals/WildKats.  This new booster club will pull from Benignus, Frank, Schultz, Kohrville and Krahn elementary schools as well as private and home schooled children in the school zone.

 

Starting a new booster club can be difficult at times due to how existing kids that played or cheered for area teams are now rezoned to play for the Bengals/WildKats.  The kids struggle with the friends and previous good times as well as the new opportunities on a different team.  This letter is designed to put rumors, parental fears and uncertainty to rest in taking the right steps in getting your child/children signed up properly with the correct team.

 

The rules that were reaffirmed at the last league wide AAYFDT board meeting are that when a new team is created a child has the right to sign up with the new team if they live within the zone.  There has been some confusion on this aspect, but the main point being if you want to sign up for the Bengals/WildKats and are part of the zone then simply walk your child/children up to our table and register.  Having said that though, if the child likes the team that they are on, it is ok as well to stay with that team just noting though if a change is wanted later after the first year then a release form is required.

 

Speaking as a parent personally the key factor in our decision was really the longer term relationship factor in playing with kids that our child would play with in junior high and high school.  Being treated as part of the team when that happens with established friendships and team camaraderie.
